After considering the queries, clarifications, recommendations and suggestions, the BAC4IGOV hereby decides to include, revise, amend, delete and/or adapt the following provisions:

For all server requirements, can we remove the TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS portion and just use the HARDWARE SUMMARY portion as reference for all server configurations?

The specifications pertains to one brand.

 

Example: System BIOS and Power Supply

The technical specifications section details each hardware component that comprises the server system. The power supply specification is required based on our data center rack layout design. Specifications indicated in the TOR are minimum requirements and should not be treated as absolute.

 

For all server requirements, instead of all Accessories listed under HARDWARE SUMMARY can we use manufacturer’s standard or include the phrase “or equivalent”? The specifications pertains to one brand. Kindly refer to the Supplemental Bid Bulletin #1 issued. Some of the items under the Accessories are removed. Items that were not removed are minimum requirements and are not brand-specific. Example:

For all server requirements, in complying with the total memory and storage of the servers can we use a different configuration however maintaining the same capacity for the DIMM (memory) and HDD (hard disk) required?

Example: 32GB memory can be fulfilled either by 4 x 8GB or 2 x 16GB.

No. We have designed the configuration to accommodate future upgrades.

 

For Openstack Compute Nodes (p.99) and Compute Nodes (p. 157), can we propose 2 units of 1U serves instead of 2U 2 nodes? We can give you the same performance and better redundancy with the same space requirement. Again, 2U 2 nodes pertains to a certain brand. No. Two (2) units of 1U servers would need four (4) electrical outlets from the PDU. Whereas the 2U 2 node configuration would require only two (2). The 2U 2 nodes are not brand-specific.

 

For Openstack Compute Nodes, processor specified (E5-2697v2) is only scalable up to 2 processors per node but quantity stated is 4. Can we interpret all hardware specifications is total for 2 nodes combined? Yes.
For 4U Ceph Nodes, the amount of disks needed within a 4U rack space is pointing to one brand. Suggestion is to focus on total capacity (for SSD and SAS/SATA) while maintaining the initially allocated 4U rack space. The 4U Ceph Nodes specifications are not brand-specific.

 

To ensure compatibility and support with most Hardware vendors, suggestion is to use Enterprise Linux, either RHEL or SUSE, Yes.
10/40Gpbs Layer 3 Ethernet Switches (Page 114, 7.11.1 IT Equipment Safety Standards) – 7.11.1.5  EN 60825-1+A2:2007 = May we request to change the requirement to EN 60825-1:2—7 and omit the “+A2”? This might be a typographical error for this standard do not have “+A2”. Yes. You may omit the +A2.

 

10/40Gpbs Layer 3 Ethernet Switches (Page 115, 7.11.12. EMI/EMC Standards) – 7.11.2.13. EC/EN 61000-4-3:2006+A2:2010, Radiated Immunity, 80-25000MHz= May we request to change 80-25000MHz to 80-25000Mhz? This might be a typographical error for this should only be 2500Mhz which is the standard frequency. Yes. This is a typographical error. It should be 80-2500MHz.
10/40 Gpbs Layer Ether Switches (Page 115, 7.11.4. IEEE 802.3 Media Access Standards)- 7.11.4.1. to 4 (IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T, IEE 802.3z 1000BASE-X, IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-X, and IEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-X) means that the 10/40Gpbs Layer 3 switches should be able support this type standards? For this will depend on the SFP Transceivers you are going to use on the switch. Yes.
10/40Gpbs Layer 3 Ethernet Switches (Page 110) – We would like to clarify what kind of Training and Certification do you require for this item? Can this be done during the installation in your office and transfer of knowledge of the product? Yes.
Core Switch Module- We would like to clarify if you already have the Core switch box and that you only need additional switch modules on your existing core switch? Or should we provide Core Switch with 2×48 ports switch modules installed in the core switch? Yes, we have an existing core switch and we only need additional core switch modules for this lot.

 

 

SAN Storage of management Rack – 1. Can we change the onboard dual-port Lan of the SAN storage to 1Gbe? For the reason that the 10Gbe LAN is optional and can only be added through the available expansion slot of the SAN storage and it is not onboard/built-in in the SAN storage. 2. We would like to clarify about the SAN storage if the “supports up to 500k IOPS” is only the capability of the SAN storage if configured in full clustered by adding storage expansion? 1.    Yes.

Item 5  p.  185  of  Software portion of the  bid  refers  to a Server Management Software.   It  appears  that this is the specific management software  of a server  brand.  As such  it should be part  of the hardware portion  of the bidding  and not on the software part.  Software  bidder cannot supply this as they cannot know the specific brand of server, hence server management software,  as it is also being bid for simultaneously. We moved this to the Hardware Lot.
Please validate consistency of the required quantity of OpenStack Controller Nodes, and hence the required subscription for OpenStack controller nodes.  It  appears the needed value is six(6)  [ on pages 85, 219,221 ) of the bid documents  but  it states  three (3) are needed on page 94 of the bid documents As a minimum requirement, the quantity of the OpenStack Controller Nodes should be six (6) units. The quantity indicated under the HARDWARE SUMMARY of this item is a typographical error.
