12 February 2020 – The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) partners with various government agencies and private entities in holding the first Philippine Fintech Festival this coming May 20 to 21 in Taguig City.
The Fintech Festival gathers global innovation and tech experts, thought leaders, and business executives around the world to discuss the future of banking, industry transformation, and financial inclusion.
DICT Undersecretary for Legal Affairs, Policy, Planning, and Finance Jose Arturo De Castro said the Fintech Festival is a great platform for participants to learn more about fintech and use the many opportunities it brings in achieving financial inclusion in the digital age.
“Your DICT recognizes and fully supports the promise that fintech brings in realizing this vision of an inclusive digital future. As we continue on our venture of making the Internet and mobile technology more available and affordable, we become more confident that the benefits of fintech would also be felt all the more by the masses,” he added.
Highlights of the PFF include plenary sessions and exhibits, business matching activities, pitching sessions, and a hackathon.
Other event partners are the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Distributed Ledger Technology Association of the Philippines (DLTAP) and the FinTech Philippines Association (FPH).
