26 January 2017 — The United Nations (UN) is now accepting nominations for the 2017 United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA). The awards seek to recognize and celebrate exemplary public service in upholding support for the SDGs and ensuring the “principle of no one left behind” as enshrined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The following categories for the 2017 UNPSA are as follows:

  • Reaching the poorest and most vulnerable through inclusive services and participation
  • Promoting transparency, accountability and integrity in public service
  • Innovation and excellence in delivering health services, as one of the SDGs

Awards mechanics and submission of nominations are through the UNPSA Portal at http://publicadministration.un.org/en/UNPSA. The deadline for nominees is on 28 February 2017 at midnight, Eastern Standard Time (EST). Awarding ceremonies will be held in the Netherlands on 23 June 2017 during the UN Public Service Forum.
