The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), in partnership with the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP), will conduct the first Convergence of Luzon ICT Champions Conference (CLICk Con) on June 16 at Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
CLICk Con aims to strengthen the collaboration among the key stakeholders and ICT champions in Luzon. The conference is packed with relevant talks discussing a wide range of topics, such as the role of ICT in accelerating governance; digital job opportunities in the countryside; government and the private sector’s role in accelerating the Philippine economy through startups; and the importance of establishing IT-BPM industry in provinces, among others.
Various Tech and ICT champions, including the President of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) Mr. Jonathan Defensor De Luzuriaga, are expected to grace the conference.
Undersecretary Monchito B. Ibrahim believes that the conference is a way to gather and strengthen the ICT community in Luzon. “We are hopeful that this will ignite the passion of the ICT community in Luzon, all with the same aim of putting the region in the map of innovation that is ardent in creating jobs especially in the countryside.”
ICT Conference is a brainchild of the DICT-eInnovation Group through its Next Wave Cities program and the NICP. The Next Wave Cities Program annually gathers ICT Councils to discuss and share best practices and current trends in IT-BPM industry. It also aims to create a working synergy for all cities in ICT Development and provide a venue for capability development, knowledge-sharing, and network-building among its major stakeholders.
