The Department of Information and Communications Technology Mindanao Cluster II (DICT MC2) partnered with the Municipality of Mainit, Surigao Del Norte to officially launch its Tech4ED Center at the Mainit Multipurpose Building on March 9, 2021.
“Your DICT recognizes the need for enhanced remote learning and digital capacity-building resources for our students and workforce during this time. As the primary agency mandated to advance the national ICT agenda, your DICT commits to extend our utmost support to our citizens and help our country move forward in the new normal,” DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II said.
The Tech4ED Project allowed thousands of Filipinos to start businesses, get an education, and gain employment through various training, capacity-building, and upskilling activities.
Each Tech4ED Center functions as a self-sustaining shared facility, serving as a conduit for the efficient delivery of various government services. It also features eight (8) learning segments, including: eEduSkills, eAssist, eMarketPlace, eGovServices, eAgri, eHealth, Gender & Development, and Rural Impact Sourcing (RIS).
DICT Undersecretary Alan A. Silor, on behalf of Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II, attended the launching of the Tech4ED Center, along with Regional Director Sittie Rahma V.
