The Department of Information and Communications Technology – Luzon Cluster 1 (DICT LC1) launched Technology for Education, Employment, Entrepreneurs and Economic Development (Tech4Ed) Centers in Pangasinan last April 30.

Four sets of computers were also given to the Tech4Ed Centers which are located in the Municipality of Infanta and in the Philippine Community e-Center in the Municipality of Dasol.

“True to our commitment of promoting inclusive growth and development, your DICT continues to reach communities across the country and provide them with digital opportunities through our Tech4Ed program,” DICT Secretary Gregorio “Gringo B. Honasan II said.

Likewise, three sets of computers were given to the Municipality of Bucloc, Abra on April 27. The computers will be used at the provincial Tech4Ed Center.

According to DICT LC1, the next Tech4Ed Center launching will be held in the Municipality of Bautista, Pangasinan in May 2021. Four sets of computers will also be provided.

The Tech4Ed Program aims to establish community e-centers in areas with minimal to no access to information and government services. It also targets to promote grass root development, inclusive growth and poverty reduction by providing Filipinos both the ICT tools and skills training needed to advance in the digital world.

As of the present, there are more than 4,000 Tech4ED Centers established nationwide.
