The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Luzon Cluster 3 will be providing free ICT trainings to teachers in MIMAROPA and Bicol Regions (Region IV-B and V).
This is in accordance with DICT Secretary Honasan’s directive for the DICT ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), Cybersecurity Bureau, and Regional Offices to conduct webinars aimed at capacitating and upskilling the ICT competencies of teachers, administrators, educators, and students in different public and private educational institutions, and state universities and colleges (SUCs).
Among the webinars offered include comprehensive trainings on the use of Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Excel and Google Suite; web development using Word Press; blended learning using Google Classroom and other educational technology resources; etiquette in using video conferencing platforms; computer system trouble shooting; cybersecurity measures to secure online teaching and learning; and lectures on the use of Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI),
“In his public address last May 25, 2020, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed his concern over the resumption of physical classes this coming school year. We are therefore holding these online trainings to help our government, through the Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID), prepare our teachers for the potential use of ICT resources in the conduct of classes,” DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II said.
