The Department of Information and Communications Technology is in high hopes as it continues supporting the country’s international startup conference – Geeks on the Beach.
Now on its 5th year, GOAB aims to not only gather startup enthusiasts from all over the world but to inspire local startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

DICT Undersecretary Monchito Ibrahim believes that GOAB continues to bring positive impact to tge Philippine startup ecosystem.
“DICT is mandated to help create a nation of innovators, to inspire and encourage Filipinos, especially the youth to create and use relevant technologies and we are positive that through GOAB, the effort that the startup community – composed of the government, academe and private sector – will not be put to waste. I am positive that we will be able to position the Philippines as a vibrant innovation and startup hub not just in Southeast Asia but all over the world.”
GOAB continues to be a dynmic venue for connection collaboration and business partnership. In the past four years, the conference has gathered a total of 300 participants from local and internatonal startup communities. Through GOAB, ZIPmatch.com, among othe companies present in the conference, obtained funding for 500 startups.
This year, the conference is expecting 400 participants which include decision makers, developers, deigners, startup founders, investors and various representatives from corporate, tech firms and startup communities.
With the 5th sataging of the GOAB the DICT and TechTalks.ph aspires to create more impact and investments for Philippine startups and startup enthusiast for years to come.
The 5th Geeks on A Beach conference will be held on August 24-25, 2017 in Puerto Princesa Palawan.
