The Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) Acting Secretary Emmanuel Rey “Manny” R. Caintic congratulates President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Vice President-elect Sara Zimmerman Duterte-Carpio and expresses full support for the plans of the new administration in continuing the digital transformation in the Philippines.

Taos-pusong pagbati mula sa DICT! I look forward to the next set of national leaders who will usher in a new era of public service. In the same spirit that our President-elect Marcos promised to strive for perfection, we commit to do our utmost to ensure a smooth turnover of our plans and programs. I am confident that the next administration will recognize the work that we have begun, which is geared toward providing accessibility across the archipelago under the Digital Infrastructure Program and the continuous streamlining of regulatory processes of industries under the DICT,” Caintic said.

Secretary Caintic leads the DICT as it prepares for the upcoming transition in leadership and ensures the sustainability of the current digital governance initiatives of the Department. In preparation, the Department has conducted various transition meetings, foremost of which is the Planning Workshop for the Development of the DICT Transition Plan 2022 held last May 23.

“We hope to see more programs and opportunities for the Filipino people, and we hope to continue the progress that we have started and consistently nurtured. With this change in leadership, a brighter future for the ICT sector and for the Philippines is ahead of us,” Caintic added.
