The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) continues to provide connectivity and cybersecurity services to all government agencies, hospitals, and to the general public amidst the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the entire Luzon Island.

For connectivity services, the public can still connect to the Internet through more than 3,000 Free Wi-Fi sites in public places in the Philippines. The program continues to service more than 700 public hospitals, rural health units, and government offices across the country.

Government emails and websites with gov.ph domain hosted under the DICT’s GovMail Service and the Government Website Hosting Service (GWHS) are still active and operational 24/7.

The DICT has also maintained the operation of various offices in-charge of infostructure programs and services, such as the Data Center Management, and the Core ICT Infrastructure Management which oversees projects such as the Government Network (GovNet).

DICT’s Cybersecurity Bureau also continues to operate and provide assistance to cybersecurity concerns.  In addition, the Department still processes Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) or digital signature applications.

The DICT’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management Division (DRRMD) under the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Resilient Government Emergency Communications also  operates 24/7 to provide emergency telecommunications services to government agencies when needed.

Meanwhile, Technology Empowerment for Education, Employment, Entrepreneurs, and Economic Development (Tech4ED) centers are temporarily closed and face-to-face trainings are suspended.

DICT advised its employees to follow strict social distancing measures and directed them to strictly cooperate and comply with the guidelines and directives issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging and Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as well as local government units (LGUs). The DICT has also implemented work from home arrangements as well as telecommuting for the continuous and uninterrupted work of its employees.
