The Information and Communications Technology Office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-ICTO) presented Balik-Scientist program awardee Raul H. Manongdo a certificate of appreciation for his work in ICT research under the Balik-Scientist program of the DOST.
Mr. Manongdo is an Australian based ICT professional with over 25 years of experience in the field of database development and database administration. His work with the DOST-ICTO includes providing input in developing a Database Administration (DBA) Course as well as consultancy work in developing the Government Interoperability Framework (GIF), an essential component of the iGov project which aims to integrate existing government networks to accelerate the delivery of services to citizens.
Denis Villorente, Officer-in-Charge of the National Computer Center and project lead for the iGov project says that: “We are grateful to our countrymen who have accomplished so much in their chosen careers abroad and have taken the time and effort to share their knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the country, Mr. Manongdo’s invaluable contribution to the GIF will go a long way in developing a integrated government”.
The Balik Scientist Program of the Department of Science and Technology aims to support and strengthen the scientific and technological human resources in the Philippines and reverse the effects of migration of skilled workers by encouraging Filipino scientists and technicians to return to the country and share their expertise and promote scientific, agro-industrial, and economic development.
