The Information and Communications Technology Office of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-ICTO) affirmed its support for the upcoming International Contact Center Conference & Expo 2012 (ICCCE) happening next week at the SMX Convention Center.

At a press conference held by the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), organizers of ICCCE, DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo affirmed his Department’s support for the event as well as local BPO industry. “I am very pleased to see that this event has grown not only as the largest contact center event in the country, but in the world, asserting the Country’s leadership in the contact center industry. Through ICTO, DOST’s support for the Industry is stronger than ever, through this event we are looking to further promote our Next Wave Cities Program, driving growth not only in Manila, Cebu and Clark but other provinces as well.” Secretary Montejo said.

Industry development programs have been instituted by DOST-ICTO in the areas of Talent Development, Marketing, Research and Industry Capability . “Our IT-BPO development programs aim to cultivate the industry from different levels from pre-recruitment all the way to Industry promotion. CCAP President Benedict Hernandez was very appreciative of DOST-ICTO’s support for the Contact Center Industry and ICCCE saying; “DOST-ICTO’s support has helped a big way in developing the industry bringing it to the level it is now, with continued support for CCAP and events like this one we are confident that the Philippines will continue to hold its strong position as the world’s contact center leader” Mr. Hernandez said.

ICCCE 2012 is the premier learning event for the contact center industry. It’s the must-attend conference for executives, managers, and professionals from both outsource and in-house call centers. As the premier event industry that gathers around 10,000 local and international call center professionals for conference on Industry best practices and case studies from top contact centers as well as be updated on global industry trends from expert analysts among others. With this year’s theme “The Future of Outsourcing,” CCAP has lined up topics such as outsourcing to the healthcare and financial services, establishing home-based agents, expanding services beyond the US, as well as the effects of social media in areas such as recruitment and customer relations, among others.

ICCCE will be held on September 18-19, 2012 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The ICCCE is also expected to set the stage for the regional meeting of the Asia Pacific Contact Center Association Leaders (APCCAL) which will be held in Manila in November. Professional organizations of voice BPO providers from more than 10 countries in the Asia Pacific Region are expected to be in attendance. Previous iterations of APCCAL meetings have been held in BPO Beijing, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Australia. This is the first time the Philippines is hosing this Regional BPO conference.
