All stakeholders are invited to participate in the series of meetings to submit their concerns and views on the Common Towers, including the steps to be taken for the accelerated common tower roll-outs, government incentives to the independent tower companies, and other related matters.
The meetings shall be part of the overall participative and synoptic process through which the Department shall gather relevant data and information that will inform its overall department policy direction to “ensure universal access to quality, affordable, reliable and secure ICT services” ( § 2[c] RA 10844), pursuant to the Department’s statutory mandate to achieve “improved public access” and to “prescribe rules and regulations for the establishment, operation and maintenance of ICT infrastructures in un-served and underserved areas, in consultation with the local government units (LGUs), civil society organizations (CSOs), private sector, and the academe.” (§ 6[d], RA 10844).
The first of the series of meetings shall be held on August 7, 2019, Wednesday, 9:00 A.M. at DICT Audio Visual Room, 1st Flr., DICT Building, C.P. Garcia Ave., U.P. Diliman Campus, Quezon City.
In view of the limited space at the venue and time constraints, and also to afford interested participants the reasonable opportunity to participate in this endeavor, kindly contact Atty. The schedule for the participants, as well as the time, date and venue of the subsequent meetings shall be announced at a later date.
Let copies of this Notice be circulated, noticed, and published in the Department, and sent to the pertinent agencies and entities in accordance with the provision of Chap. 2, Book VII, Revised Administrative Code and existing laws.
