This serves as a notice of intent to offer the Philippine orbital slot at 98 degrees East for planned broadcast satellite services to be carried, on a non-exclusive basis, allowing for a multiple redundant satellite deployment.

In consonance with the government’s strategy on Public-Private-Partnership (PPP), ICTO shall allow interested parties the use of assigned orbital slot on a single or multiple channel basis for use of government, at no cost and most advantageous for the government.

The proposed satellite service for government’s use shall solely be intended for sending and receiving broadcast data to government communications network and address the following requirements:

  • Common platform to support emergency communications
  • Strengthening of Integrated Government Network for bridging digital divide initiatives; and
  • Other public services to ensure the provision of secured and unhampered information, only within the Philippine area of responsibility.

Interested parties may signify their interest and capability to respond, and submit at least the following: 1) Letter of Intent addressed to DOST-ICTO Head of Agency; and 2) proposed satellite network configuration, including earth station location for telemetry tracking and control, among others. The DOST-ICTO reserves the right to ask additional requirements in accordance with existing relevant government rules and regulations.
