In a survey conducted by the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Division, users who availed of the online application and installation of digital certificates share their experiences with the service. Feedback was generally positive and highlighted the users’ favorable experience with the forms used, service time, and process.
“The use of digital certificates fast-tracks and secures online transactions for our telecommuting public and the government alike, in line with the President’s directives to cut red tape and reduce overregulation for faster delivery of services amid the public health emergency,” DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II said.
Among the service components commended by users include (1) efficient turnaround of application emails (2) accommodating service personnel who promptly handled inquiries and public assistance concerns, as well as (3) easy-to-use application forms and user-friendly instructions.
“Engr. Rodriguez and his team have been very helpful and quick to respond in a way that would be easy to understand for those who are not too ‘techy’. The WFH application and installation was a good experience,” a user commented. Another anonymous respondent provided that “the service was prompt and responsive to the needs of the client. I hope that all government agencies will make DICT a benchmark in the provision of timely service.”
The number of PNPKI users had also increased substantially since the quarantine, with 1,251 current users—the bulk of whom are comprised of employees from National Government Agencies (497 users) and NGA Regional Offices (338 users).
The DICT’s service of providing digital certificates complements the National ICT Month 2020 theme of “Maximizing ICT in the new normal” as its aims to improve the Work-From- Home experience for the Filipino workforce. To this end, the Department will be holding various online activities and webinars focusing on key topics such as digital government, digital cities and provinces, digital medicine and social assistance, digital education and workforce, cybersecurity, and emergency communications.
