Internet access is becoming a necessity, especially in today’s age where information has been shifting more and more towards the digital medium. As such, having the means to connect to the Internet is vital, as it gives various business, career, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Aside from financial growth, internet access enables faster communication between two parties, from one family member working abroad reaching out to his or her family, companies conveying business plans to their executives, to relevant news about current events to the general public.

Such potential can be harnessed once the public gains access to the Internet. That said, the Department of Science and Technology, through its Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO), is currently on its way in making the Philippines 99 percent connected by the year 2015. In order to do this, ICTO is now looking for companies who are willing to participate in the bidding for our Free Internet Access for Public Places Project. This aims to provide Internet access to 3, 4, 5 and 6 class municipalities in the country.
