The Department of Information and Communications Technology, through the Policies and Standards Division – National ICT Government Service, will hold a consultation on the draft Administrative Order – Social Media Use for Government on 10 October 2017, Tuesday from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at the Audio Visual Room (AVR), G/F DICT Building, C.P. Garcia Avenue, U.P. Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.
Social media has become an integral part of the public and personal lives of civil servants, but alongside the unique opportunities of this networking platform are the challenges that come with unguided or irresponsible social media usage. Hence, organizations must develop and establish guidelines, rules and regulations on the safe and productive use of social media, particularly for government offices to standardize, establish and define acceptable norms, reporting and feedback mechanism.
This invite-only consultation will be attended by government employees (NGAs and LGUs) and the Technical Working Group members, composed of the Civil Service Commission, Career Service Executive Board, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), DSWD and the PSD-NIGS-DICT, who formulated and developed the draft AO.
To help us improve and refine the policy document, the DICT invites National Government Agencies and Local Government Units to submit additional inputs, position papers, comments and suggestions to email@example.com, on or before October 22.
Another round of consultation will be organized to include other private organizations and stakeholder groups; details of which will be posted soon.
