As part of the preparations for the 2018 State of the Nation Address (SONA) the government organized a three week-long pre-SONA campaign called Tatak ng Pagbabago. The event is conducted to give the public a glimpse of the policies, programs and projects that the government has implemented during the second year of the Duterte Administration and its long-run effect to the future of the country.
To kick off the pre-SONA campaign, the Economic Development Cluster and the Infrastructure Cluster conducted a forum, dubbed as Tatak sa Pag-unlad, last July 6, 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City.
The presentations were led by the Chair of the Economic Development Cluster, Secretary Carlos Dominguez and Chair of the Infrastructure, Secretary Mark Villar. The presentations of the two clusters highlighted the gains, initiatives and future projects of the clusters.
After each presentation, an open forum was held together with select Secretaries of each cluster, where the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) was represented by Undersecretary Mon Ibrahim.
Also highlighted in the event are the programs and projects of DICT such as National Broadband Plan, GovNet/Regional GovNet Project; and the Pipol Konek Free Wi-Fi. These projects aim to expand the connectivity especially in the unserved and underserved areas, to realize economic opportunities brought by digitization. Another gain/benefit being envisioned is for government services to be effectively and efficiently delivered by taking advantage of ICT Services.
The president is slated to deliver his third SONA on July 23, 2018.
